Chuck Brown!!!

It's pretty exciting around the Baker house these days...I'm really excited - I'm working on the promo for the Dog Whisperer (the one with the green screen shoot in LA) and we signed DC Go-Go legend Chuck Brown to do the music for the spot! This is a first for me, and really exciting. Pete has played with him before, I believe, and this guy is truly a music legend. We're composing a song about Cesar and Chuck will sing the lyrics...it's gonna be so cool and unique! It's times like these that I feel like I have the best job in the world.
Also, the Baker Brood will be in town this weekend on their way down from up north, so that should be fun. We'll hang out on Saturday night and then they head back to Ga on Sunday.
Erin is feeling great, and growing by the day!

I FELT SMUDGE KICK!

Well, for the first time, I felt Smudge kicking last night! It was very exciting. We were sitting on the couch watching some TV and Erin said "wow, Smudge is really active" - and she put my hand on her tummy and I felt this thumping kick - it was quite surreal! This baby is an active one, and his once light "fluttering motion" is now a full blown thunder kick.

Just another night hanging out at the house for the boys!

More pics of Mamma!

Ok, enough pictures of Andy's boring work stuff...let's see more of Mama Erin! (Merni!)
We're happy to report that we're not living out of cardboard boxes anymore...

We have internet...

We got a new dresser...and a cute panda bib for Smudge...

And we (or Erin anyway) are dancing a jig in our happy new home. This is actually Erin replicating Smudge's dance moves in the womb.

We'll do some painting in the living room soon, and we close on Fairmont on July 31, and start the baby room shortly thereafter!
Love,
Andy and Erin

Back

It was a great shoot (see pictures below) in LA, just a bit tiring, as I took the red eye back on Friday night and arrived home at 5am Saturday. The first picture shows me talking with Cesar Millan, describing the promo we were shooting, and the second picture is me and coco the chihuaua! The last picture shows the enormous green screen set that was built for the shoot. Pretty cool!

After I slept a bit, we spent Saturday getting our TV hooked up, and continuing to unpack and hang pictures in the new place. Sunday was all about cleaning up the house, and it's spic and span now. Just need to cut the grass and sign the papers and it'll be all final!
We saw Smudge this morning on a high-powered sonogram - it was so cute and incredible. You could literally see his/her face and eyes and lips! Smudge was hiding from the cameras, apparently a bit shy! It's remarkable how much detail we saw. I'll post a picture when I can figure out how to scan one in.
The good news is, the baby is totally healthy and everything appears to be in order. We will find out the gender of Smudge in November, it's very exciting!
Love, A

In LA

I'm in LA for work, doing a shoot with the semi-world famous "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan! Here I am in the hotel green room with his pooch "Daddy" who is the sweetest pit bull I've ever seen. Talk about calm/submissive! Cesar really knows his stuff...if only I could get him to help us get Barley over his fear of hardwood floors. Anyway, we've got a whole day tomorrow with Cesar and about 12 dogs...look for the promo to come in August sometime.
Later,
A

A successful move!

Well, we made it! It was a long weekend filled with a little chaos, a lot of cardboard boxes, and two very disgruntled pets. We survived the move, but we're still living in a bit of a zoo. It feels like we're living in a stranger's house, but soon it'll be decorated and filled a few new pieces of furniture to make it the home base for Bakertown!

At the end of a long day, some of us were more tired than others...

Last post for a while...

Tomorrow is D-Day - the movers arrive at 9am and we finally go to the new house! Tonight we will be cutting the grass, packing the last of the dishes and clothes, unplugging everything, etc. Last night we went and unpacked a few more breakables and I did some last trim touch up painting in the family room. Barley also visited his new backyard and found some perfect sized sticks to romp around with! He wasn't too excited about the entire house having hardwood floors, but he'll get used to it.
We won't have phone or internet in the new place until Monday the 9th, but we'll take pics and post them early next week. It's been a long few months, but we're almost there! Can't wait to get unpacked, finish painting, and have everyone come visit us!
Love,

Painting and such

Today we (Andy) painted the family room. It took quite a while, but it looks great! Of course, I took some pictures of the room...never mind the blue tape, that will get taken off on Friday when I go back to touch it all up after it dries.
I love my camera! (obviously) It's so easy to upload pics to the computer.
Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday America!

This is what happens when you pack away your hot mitts in one of 20 boxes and forget to leave it out...you have to take a hot pizza out of the oven with your shorts.

Here's me kissing Smudge...

And here's me discussing my future plans for galactic domination with Smudge...

New House Pics

We went to the new place today to start prepping for some painting. Erin took a nap on the back porch...it was a beautiful day to do it!

Welcome to Bakertown!

It's all the Baker news that's fit to print...or blog! We thought that because 2007 will be such a big year for us, we'd create this blog to update everyone on the big move, the new place and of course...the arrival of (who we affectionately call) Smudge, the new Baker!
For everyone who hasn't heard this nickname, it came when we saw Erin's first sonogram and the baby just looked like a little "smudge"...and the rest was history.

We're busy packing the old house - see picture below and you'll get an idea of how much help we're getting packing up all of our stuff! Last night we had our first meal at the new house - a picnic on the back porch with Paloma and Charles. We can't wait to move in - it's very exciting!

Moving day is next Saturday, and Wednesday I'll be painting one of the rooms.
Well, keep coming back - we'll post pictures here and the latest and greatest news from Bakertown.
Love,
Andy and Erin
