Thanksgiving is coming!

Finn's getting excited for Thanksgiving - food and family are on their way!
"Where is this Turkey I've heard about? Is it in the stove..."
"Maybe it's under the stool! Nope, no sign yet!"
Finn's been feeling much better after his recent bout with the sniffles...lots of smiles!
"That's no Turkey! That's my Mommy!"

We're excited for a little break and having family around for the weekend...and Finn's excited to play with two of his little cousins!

Finn's First Birthday

It's hard to believe, but one year ago today was the birth of our little man Finn. Time sure flies when you're having fun. This picture below is the first picture ever taken of Finn. What a chubby little face!
This is one of the earliest photos I took of him from my camera phone - the picture that I sent to everyone within minutes of his birth! This was one of the first times our friends and family got a glimpse at our little guy... And here's our man today! Bright eyed and happily eating some Pappadum from our favorite local Indian restaurant. Those who know us well know that all major events are better with a little curry and Naan. :) Finn loved his Pappadum crackers, and it went even better with a cute little frog hat!
Opening presents and cards was next...
"Hmmm, let me see. The great Finndini says: choo-choo."
"That's right, it's a hat with Choo-choo trains on it! I'm psychic, you see."
"...AND, incredibly cute in my new hat."
Now, enough with those curry crackers - bring on the birthday cupcake!""Mmm, delicious. A guy could get used to this." (Although he ended up spitting it out a few seconds later. There's picky eaters, and then there's Finn.)
The family scooted home to open the last few presents before bedtime...
A cool new puzzle from Grandpa, Meme and Adam was lots of fun to play with! He even was able to match a few of the pieces!
"Oh, what's this, daddy? This box is so big, it's like a present all by itself!"
"And all this rippin' paper? Totally awesome."A rolling bumblebee from Cousin Jake and Uncle Sean/Aunt Des...that means more scootin' around the house!
We couldn't ask for a better birthday. It's been a wonderful year for the three of us, and we want to thank all of our family and friends for loving Finn SO much and sending all your thoughts, love, incredibly generous gifts, warm wishes and kisses over the last 12 months. It means the world to us. And thanks for visiting our blog and keeping up with us crazy Bakers!
"My name is Zoom and I live on the moon, and I came to earth just to sing you this tune...HEY FINN, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY...TODAY!"

Almost-Birthday-Boy

Finn has been getting ready for his first birthday! Training includes hanging out near Mommy when she brings in the mail - checking for birthday cards and gifts!
"Hey Barley, back off! These are my birthday cards! Maybe there's yogurt inside them for me...I do love some yogurt..."Training also includes walking around the house with his wagon, getting his cardio up for...well, opening presents?
"This is awesome walking! Now, if I could only get this wagon up on a treadmill, I wouldn't have to keep running into these pesky walls!"

Birthday fever is breaking out in Bakertown!
Hard to believe how fast a year can go...

The Finn-dy City!

Bakertown was moved to windy Chicago for a weekend! We had a blast, and Finn weathered the storm, despite a tough teething weekend! It was helped by a visit to the children's museum, which he loved!
"Guys, I don't know if you know this, but I don't think this flower is real."
"Let's go fishing for little plastic fish! They probably taste delicious, too!"
Chicago's famous "bean" in the park was fun to look at for little Finn.
And a nighttime boat tour of Chicago was way cool, too. Finn made sure to leave some extra Cheerios behind on the deck for the captain.
One last walk down the Navy Pier on Daddy's shoulders is always fun!
Such a happy boy and his mommy!
Before we headed off, Finn took one last gaze at Lake Michigan...
We're only a week away from Finn's first birthday! Time truly flies in Bakertown!
