INCREDIBLE INFANT REACHES MILESTONES

FINN BAKER SHOCKS WORLD
Bob Woodward, Washington Post
July 29, 2008
WASHINGTON - Rumors have been swirling around the Washington Area for weeks now, and sources close to The Post have confirmed that the rumors are true. Finn Thomas Baker, son of Andy and Erin Baker, is in fact crawling. Actual photographic evidence has confirmed that the speculation in recent weeks that Finn was mobile was no hoax.
As the littlest Baker gets more and more comfortable with his newfound freedom, sources close to the Baker family have also confirmed that "baby proofing" is taking place in more than one location, including the living room and kitchen area.
Finn has taken his new mobility very seriously, and has been heard to say "da...gah" when asked what this milestone means to him. Powerful words, to be sure.
But the exciting news doesn't stop with mere forward movement. Finn is also reportedly feeding himself, sitting up the bathtub, able to support himself on his hands and knees, and is even now banging the floor when he sees his mother also bang the floor with her hands. It is currently unknown why Mrs. Baker is banging her hands on the floor.
Finn's new developments have caused shockwaves amongst DC insiders, and it's even been overheard at the White House that come November the newest President to take office will be the second biggest story in town, behind the obvious #1 story that Finn will be celebrating his first birthday.

Video proof can be seen below of Finn's eating and crawling.

As a journalist in DC for over 50 years - covering politicians, statesmen and world leaders - I can say with a great degree of confidence that Finn is a man/child/infant we should keep a close eye on.

Shirtless in Bakertown

Lots of fun in Bakertown lately...even if it is a bit hot outside!
A bold new discovery was made...measuring cups!
"Look! I can fly!"

"And...I CAN CRAWL!" (sort of)

Almost Crawling!

Finn should be crawling any old day now...he can pivot, roll and sort-of-scoot! His happiest place seems to be on the floor these days, rolling around and getting into everything...

Sometimes something as interesting as a camera case is enough to motivate forward movement! He's almost to full locomotion, just a little more coordination and he'll be off to the races! We're movin' and groovin' here in Bakertown!

Good Clean Fun

It's always fun to discover new flavors of food! Apricots and Sweet Potatoes are apparently quite the delicious combo...and Finn wanted as much as he could get!So delicious!
But after a big meal, you need a nice bath to top off the hot weekend. Apparently that's just as hilarious as Sweet Potatoes and Apricots!
Such a coy little boy!
The summer's rolling on in Bakertown. We're having fun and doing whatever we can to beat the DC heat!

A trip down memory lane...

In the hot summer days of July, I thought I'd post some pictures from the past! Additionally, some never-before-seen pictures of Finn that didn't ever get posted...it's a little Friday bonus treat. :)

Over 3 years ago, Erin and I had the best night of our lives...a magical time with family and friends. We'll never forget it...
I love this picture, the brightness on our faces reflects our excitement for the great time we had, and the incredible times to come...
Chief amongst those "times to come" is the birth of Finn Thomas...this is one of the very first pictures ever taken of the little fella.
Such a tiny little joy...and it seems like so long ago that he was so small!
He grew, and began to smile...
And today he's becoming such an amazing little boy! Always happy, always filled with smiles. And curiosity...

And a feisty little spirit! (And two prominent teeth)It's been an incredible journey, watching him get so big, and we celebrate the little victories with him, even if it's just as simple as sitting up.

It's been an unforgettable 8 months with Finn. And we can't wait for the months and years to come! Nothing is better to me, than being in the heart of Bakertown with Finn and Erin!
Love,
Andy

Welcome home, Daddy!

Andy returned from a trip to LA, and he came home to some amazing discoveries:
1. Tupperware make for really cool toys! 2. Tupperware make for really cool hats!
3. Playing with Tupperware is hilarious!
4. But Tupperware can't compare to a kiss from Daddy! And it's even better when Daddy's wearing his new "Finn McCool's" t-shirt from LA.
5. "Who's Finn McCool?" you might ask? See here:

Everything's better, when all the Bakers are back in Bakertown!

Finn's First Fourth!

The Bakers set out for a simple Fourth of July parade...but they ended up getting so much more!It turns out, Takoma Park's 4th of July Parade is like a "G-rated Mardi Gras" (according to Erin)...lots of pageantry and the whole city turns out for it, like one big party!

Finn had a great time watching the floats and dancers and bands stream by...
It was so much fun, it inspired Finn to make his own little carnival float at home! He rode the back of Leo the Lion and waved and danced, a little parade of one!
He continued to practice on his horse, too...he can't decide which he'll ride in next year's parade. It was a very fun Fourth, for everyone in Bakertown!Love,

Chow Time!

Finn loves to chow down! He's become quite skilled feeding himself...and it sure is fun!
Mmm, sweet potato puffs! Delicious.
We've got big plans for the fourth...Finn will attend his very first parade! Look for pictures coming to Bakertown...
Here's a little video of the man of the hour jabbering away...or, he's doing his best Morrissey impersonation..."hand in glove..." (if you listen closely you can hear the Smiths, Finn's new favorite band)

Looking forward to a fun 3 day weekend!

Sit up and take notice!

Finn is more and more able to sit up on his own! It's very exciting to see...and while sometimes he tends to tip over a little bit, he's getting stronger and stronger every day.

Such a happy little boy!
Is that a tuba? A trombone? Nope...it's an inchworm!

We're looking forward to the long holiday weekend!
