Christmas: Part Tres! (final installment)

Christmas Eve kicked off with the Hanson tradition of burning the "Yule Shoe" in the fireplace. As the festivities went on, it wasn't the only thing to be incinerated, but we won't get into that! :)
Finn did a little hanging with his Uncle Tommy...And then he did some cuddling with Aunt Desi!
And on Christmas Morning, Santa had indeed arrived! And he apparently left his red sleigh behind...no reindeer were found on the scene, luckily enough!
Finn took the driver's seat and he was off to the races!
All this present opening sure can tucker a little man out...(Note "big boy" jeans on little Finn!)
All in all, it was a really fun day, and Finn had a great Christmas! Thanks to everyone who was so generous to send cards and gifts to the Bakertown Family! We really do appreciate it.
Finally, upon arrival back home, Finn did a little more practicing of his new found walkin' skillz!

Here's to a wonderful '08!

Christmas Part Deux!

Our second Christmas week adventure (see below for part 1) was going to the "stay and play" indoor playground...Finn packed up his warm winter cap and off we went!
Finn loves going headfirst down the slides...that little daredevil!
And of course, the "standard" slide technique is still good for a smile!
Crawling up the ramp again to go down the slide...here, Finn shows Mommy his best crawling technique.
It was a fun time, and lots of toys and things to climb on!
At long last, here's further proof that Finn's taking steps! He enjoys practicing every day, walking between Mommy and Daddy!

Christmas in Conn Pt 1!

As is normal in Bakertown, a large number of pictures was taken to document everything Finn-related during his Christmas in Connecticut!
Therefore, the 'webmaster' for Bakertown has chosen to post several parts of this Christmas extravaganza. Part one - meeting a new friend, Thomas! What did Finn think? Let's listen in...
"Hey, ok, um, are you like a magician or something? How do you only stand without touching your mommy? Teach me, wise master!"
"Ahh, so NOW you're crawling! You're on my turf now...join me in this blue tube and I will teach you a thing or two. Oh, it's your tube? So...you've done this before I guess."
"Ok, it's time to pose with our mommies. Smile Thomas!"
"Back in the blue tube. It makes my hair go all crazy!"
"This thing is amazing! Thomas, you're all right in my book. Anytime you want to come visit me, mi casa su casa."
Well, that concludes the first adventure! You'll have to come back to Bakertown for the next installment!

The Little Joker

Finn did his best "Joker" impression today!
"I'm looking for the Batman! Have you seen him?"
"Haaahaaaha! Soon, all of Bakertown will be ruled by me!"
"These pulverized strawberries are delicious, I gotta tell you."
"Oh, I'm a joker all right..."

**URGENT BAKERTOWN BREAKING NEWS!!**

AP 12/15/08
Takoma Park, MD
Officials report that Finn Baker, Son of Andy and Erin, took his first steps today! His shuffling two-step of more than 1-2 feet was witnessed by Erin, and then took place again on two other occasions. While Bakertown currently has photographers and reporters on the scene, no visual documentation of this great event was able to be obtained at press time.
This monumental event was rumored to have been happening soon - and some reports from the Obama inaugural planning committee were that the President Elect was concerned that a January walk from Finn could potentially upstage the inauguration. Considering that the inauguration will be one of the country's defining moments, seen around the world by billions - yeah, you could say that Finn walking is kind of a big deal.
Again, photographers are on the scene and photos should be appearing shortly on this blog.
In the meantime, here's just a really cute photo of Finn walking behind his wagon. If you take your right hand and cover the wagon with your fingers, that will give an approximation of what the event might have looked like.

Weekend Fun with Finn

Finn joined his old friend Ellie for her first birthday party! He convinced her to push HIM around the party a bit...hint - this is foreshadowing another picture...
Finn has started playing with crayons...or, "sorta-scribbling"!
At home, Finn relaxed and did some yoga-posing that just happened to look like "playing with blocks"...
And he discovered after Ellie's party that it's way more fun to crawl into the wagon and get pushed by Daddy than to push it himself!

A long overdue visit to Bakertown...

Sorry for the long delay in posting, Bakertown visitors! Some computer issues have slowed down Bakertown's output, lately, but it can't slow down the fun...
Finn had lots of visitors over the holidays, and lots of ticklish good times!
Reading about Thomas the Train with big cousin Ivy is always a good time...
"Hey Ivy, I'd like to point out that my middle name is Thomas! Like the Train guy!"
Finn did some relaxing on the hammock while in the mountains right before the holidays, too.
"I'd like to salute you, Mommy! I clap my hands for your great cooking and Thanksgiving pies! Also, I've got no hands on the table!"
Finn and Sage hang out on the slide...
And a little cherub popped through the window to say hi to Finn!
"Hey Sage! How did you get through that tiny little porthole? Are you impressed that I know the word 'porthole'?"
Finn even tried to defy the laws of gravity and crawl up the slide...
More tickles - and curious looks from cousin Ivy!
"Ivy...hhaa...you...haaha...should...hahahee...try this....heeehehhee...sometime!"
Some reading with Grandma...
And Finn found a fun new game - throwing the camera case to the Kitty!
"Hey Kitty! Check this out! It's a camera case. You catch it, and then throw it back to me."
But the best game of all? Ramming trucks together! Finn found this endlessly hilarious, as evidenced in the video below.

It's always a smashing good time in Bakertown!

Thanksgiving is coming!

Finn's getting excited for Thanksgiving - food and family are on their way!
"Where is this Turkey I've heard about? Is it in the stove..."
"Maybe it's under the stool! Nope, no sign yet!"
Finn's been feeling much better after his recent bout with the sniffles...lots of smiles!
"That's no Turkey! That's my Mommy!"

We're excited for a little break and having family around for the weekend...and Finn's excited to play with two of his little cousins!

Finn's First Birthday

It's hard to believe, but one year ago today was the birth of our little man Finn. Time sure flies when you're having fun. This picture below is the first picture ever taken of Finn. What a chubby little face!
This is one of the earliest photos I took of him from my camera phone - the picture that I sent to everyone within minutes of his birth! This was one of the first times our friends and family got a glimpse at our little guy... And here's our man today! Bright eyed and happily eating some Pappadum from our favorite local Indian restaurant. Those who know us well know that all major events are better with a little curry and Naan. :) Finn loved his Pappadum crackers, and it went even better with a cute little frog hat!
Opening presents and cards was next...
"Hmmm, let me see. The great Finndini says: choo-choo."
"That's right, it's a hat with Choo-choo trains on it! I'm psychic, you see."
"...AND, incredibly cute in my new hat."
Now, enough with those curry crackers - bring on the birthday cupcake!""Mmm, delicious. A guy could get used to this." (Although he ended up spitting it out a few seconds later. There's picky eaters, and then there's Finn.)
The family scooted home to open the last few presents before bedtime...
A cool new puzzle from Grandpa, Meme and Adam was lots of fun to play with! He even was able to match a few of the pieces!
"Oh, what's this, daddy? This box is so big, it's like a present all by itself!"
"And all this rippin' paper? Totally awesome."A rolling bumblebee from Cousin Jake and Uncle Sean/Aunt Des...that means more scootin' around the house!
We couldn't ask for a better birthday. It's been a wonderful year for the three of us, and we want to thank all of our family and friends for loving Finn SO much and sending all your thoughts, love, incredibly generous gifts, warm wishes and kisses over the last 12 months. It means the world to us. And thanks for visiting our blog and keeping up with us crazy Bakers!
"My name is Zoom and I live on the moon, and I came to earth just to sing you this tune...HEY FINN, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY...TODAY!"
