Pool Par-tay!

Finn hosted a pool par-tay in the backyard with his little friend Ellie!Splish-splashin' is fun!
Who's gonna get that rubber ducky!?
Finn spread out a bit and made himself comfy...hey Finn's it's not a hot tub!
Finn is also trying to pull himself up...
And he's taken to a little role-reversal...feeding Mommy
And he loves his crackers!But Mom's hair is the best of all!
The summer's winding down, but at Bakertown the pool doesn't close after Labor Day! Yay! Love, A&E

End of Vacation...

Our wonderful week at the beach came to a close this weekend, but we went down for one last goodbye to the sand and surf.
Goodbye sandcastles...(no, we didn't build this) Goodbye big waves and blue skies...
And goodbye to all that sand that found its way into Finn's diapers, ears, mouth, toes, fingers...
After a grueling 8 hour ride home in traffic, we made it safe and sound back home...with a ton of wonderful memories and a little bit of sand still between our toes!

Flying with Finn

After some morning beach time, Finn wanted to do something "historic" with his remaining time in the Outer Banks...so we did some thinking and negotiating on the porch.And off we went to the Wright Brothers Memorial in Kitty Hawk, the site of the first flight...
Lots of great views from the top of the dune!
Finn loved it, the cool breeze and high view sure was fun!
And we even had time to pose for a family picture at the top!
But Finn's favorite part was pretending that he was an astronaut! The sky's the limit in Bakertown!

Rainy Day Rock Star

A rainy day meant no beach time today, so Finn decided to get a little rock-and-roll and spike up his 'do for a big day out.Off we went to the local lighthouse for a little walkabout, and some time on Dad's shoulders.
A little walk in the marsh made for a nice view of the lighthouse!
Even in rainy weather, we're rockin' in Bakertown!

Bakertown Beach Blanket Bonanza!

Finn's taking vacation...and he decided to bring Mom and Dad with him!
He has had a very busy schedule while spending time at the beach, including inspecting all of his tools before setting out to sandy work...
"This rake is perfect! I've been looking for a purple one, they're extra cool."
"Dad, here's a shovel. I want you to move the beach to Takoma Park, one scoop at a time!"
"Dad, posing for pictures won't move this sand any faster."
Finn took a break from ordering us around to take a swim...
He didn't know if he should be scared of the waves, but he had fun anyway!
Wading in the water...on the lookout for sharks!
Back home, he enjoyed a little vacation hide-and-seek with Mommy!
And Finn's newest fun game - clap your hands!!! (It's his favorite thing to do now.)

Vacation sure is fun! Lots of smiles to be had all week. Also, lots of work - Finn decided he wanted to start digging to see how far he could get. (Not too far)



And after a long day at the beach, it's dinner time, and hand-clapping fun!
