A visit from the Bakers!

It's been a while since the last post, so here's a long one! Geoff and Carol and Ivy and Sage were in town to visit little Finn - so we had a little Ostle/Baker shindig. Luckily, the gathering was on Saturday, just hours before the 48 hour deluge of rain.
Here, Finn shows Sage his "office".
"Janet, hold all my calls! I've got a big meeting with Sage to discuss the global economy and the virtues of bond investing. And also, poop."
The Baker boys and their spawn take a stroll in Takoma Park! Luckily, the car that looks like it's about to drive through Andy's head stopped just in the nick of time.
Sage gives Andy some tips on effective rice cereal feeding...
"See, here's the deal. It's all in how deftly you work the spoon. It takes a gentle touch - I'd show you myself, but I'd probably just end up eating the cereal anyway!"
Finn and Sage pose for pictures...
And then Finn and Ivy pose. If you think there's a trend here, you'd be right...many pictures were taken of BOTH permutations of Finn with a cousin. However, you're probably wondering where the picture of ALL three of them is. If you ask that question, clearly you have little experience wrangling a 3 year old, a 1 year old and a 5 month old!
Yes, there was some quiet time for reading to be had...It was a wonderful visit to Bakertown!

Finn-land

The president of Finnland demanded more pictures be posted of his Sunday exploits...

Hanging with mom for some snuggle-time...A little more rice cereal actually made its way into Finn's stomach...
A little rice goatee makes anyone look a little more like a hipster!
Here's a little video of the hilarity that is Finn eating...

We're getting ready in Bakertown for an influx of Baker cousins...Ivy and Sage are coming next weekend!

Hungry boy!

As his bib suggests...Finn has been a hungry boy lately! So Finn started eating (semi) solid foods! Yummy rice meal cereal always goes down smooth...or down his chin.
He's very good at eating, albeit a bit perplexed as to what is going on...
Finn did some modeling in his sweet Wake Forest duds...it's hard to not look good in the Old Gold and Black!!!
Hilarity abounds in Bakertown! Finn did his first heavy laughing/giggling. Apparently being told "you're SO big!" while throwing your arms up in the air is the funniest thing he'd heard in his life!
Today being April 13th marks his 5 month birthday! So crazy how time flies. Teething has struck, just when our nights were getting smoother...poor little guy.

Working out with Finn

Finn spent his Sunday going to yoga, taking long naps, and working out in his gym! It's grueling when you're training for a triathlon: sleeping, eating and wriggling!
Here, he's practicing his one-armed pushups. There's always time to pose with Mom between sets...
"Mom, can you spot me? I'm really going to go for it on my next one...you don't get a physique like this without pushing yourself to the next level."
"Hey you, drop and give me 5! Ounces!"
And while he was at it, he figured he'd do some more push-ups! He's occasionally (but not often) rolling over...in this video, Finn's just working on his pecs and lats, so he didn't do the full rollover.
5 minutes after this video, Finn got upset - at first we thought it was the 'roid rage, but then it was clear he was just hungry! He had a quick protein shake and then all was well again!

Don't act like you're not impressed... :)

Unbelievable!!!

Finn said his first word today! It was incredible, but it happened!
His first word was "loquacious".
He was as surprised as we were, as you can see below.

Finn also made a breakthrough when he was able to stand and jump! All by himself! Here's a picture just moments after he was standing on the back porch, then he jumped into Andy's arms! Incredible. He looks surprised because his vertical leap is over 2 feet high, higher than his whole body length!
And last but certainly not least, Finn's last breakthrough of the day was being able to MOVE OBJECTS WITH HIS MIND!!! Here he's preparing to move a block of wood from one end of the porch to the other! Or, he might be using his mind...to move his bowels!

Finn truly is an incredible young lad!

APRIL FOOLS! Gotcha! We can't believe you fell for that...Finn can't jump 2 feet! more like 1.5 feet.
