Big Weekend for Andy

So while Erin was away at her friend Melissa's Bachelorette party in Miami, I painted Smudge's room and installed new blinds and curtains, and put all of Smudge's clothes away (they had been sitting in boxes in the room, the room with purple off-white walls and bamboo roll-up shades). Erin didn't know about any of it, it was a total surprise to her so when she got home today she had something nice to welcome her home! Here are some pictures...note that it's hard to shoot an empty room with no furniture (on order), but it is looking cozy now for sure.

I also got a new grill over the weekend and put that together...so tonight we had a yummy tofu marinade and grilled pepper bbq feast! Who says vegetarians can't grill out? Here it is...and a new picture of my baby mama!
That's the latest and greatest from Bakertown!

New things for house...

We received our guest bed on Saturday, so I built it and Erin got some nice new sheets and what not. So our guest bedroom is looking in good shape! Our first guest will be Sean and Des when they come down for our "Smudge Party" on September 29th. Speaking of which, come one come all to the shower/party for Smudge on Saturday the 29th. Should be fun!

Here's Erin - and see the new sunroom carpet...

New carpet in the front room... matches the curtains perfectly!

Here's Barley. Unfortunately Barley isn't doing so hot these days. He has a cut on his paw (hence the E-collar to keep him from licking it) and he's currently on "house rest" meaning we can't take him on any walks for the next month because he apparently has a pinched nerve in his back. He's been limping around for a while, and it wasn't his arthritis...so he has to rest and take a bunch of pills and what not to help his back. Let's hope that works...poor old guy.

And here's his highness king Marky lounging by the screen door...

Went golfing today, getting ready for my labor day trip, and then we hit our new addiction - Costco. Where else can you buy a golf bag and blueberries? It's pretty awesome!
Erin also went and got a new sonogram this week - we saw some very close shots of Smudge's face - it's pretty incredible. so now we know what Smudge's face looks like! Handsome, of course...and he/she appears to have my nose. :)
That's the latest and greatest!

Long time no blog...

Sorry folks! It's been a busy few weeks...as most of you know, I've been in my own personal version of DMV hell lately...but there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel!
Had a great birthday weekend - we drove down to Virginia to our friend Pat's house in the country. We hiked in the Shanandoah's, swam in a waterfall lake, played some cards and watched a meteor shower (in the pitch black it's pretty impressive!)...all in all, a pretty perfect day.
The house is shaping up nicely, we ordered some new rugs, new baby furniture (crib and dresser) and new bedding for the guest room. It's getting there, bit by bit! We're looking forward to the shower/party in September - stay tuned for more details!
Erin is growing...and Smudge is kicking up a storm - I felt him/her again last night, it was really cool!
I'll post some new pictures soon.
Love,
Andy

Godfather of Go-Go

Chuck Brown recorded "Cesar's Way" today for our Dog Whisperer campaign. What an amazing day and experience. Chuck is by far the coolest guy I've ever met, and one of the nicest. He knocked the tune out of the park, making it sound more amazing than I ever thought. After that, he jammed with our studio musicians for a while, and it was incredible. We had a short conversation/interview and to talk to a total musical legend was truly a memorable experience. It's days like these that I feel so fortunate to do what I do for a living! As soon as the spot is complete, I'll post a link on the blog. We should be wrapping it up next week.
Here are some pictures taken during the jam session.

The Ivy Leaguers take it down!

We had an all day offsite "olympics" for work on Tuesday, and 16 teams competed for a trophy as the champion...the "Ivy Leaguers" (my team) - complete with preppy flag, tweed jackets and oxford shirts/khaki shorts (our uniform) took down the final in a grueling soccer match (both teams got Italian Soccer Jerseys as reward for making it to the final) - here are some pictures of the final battle and celebration. It makes me want to compete in Soccer again - I had two goals in the 5-4 victory, but I'm suffering with serious soreness today!

Erin comes home tonight from her trip, me and the Boys missed her dearly!

Love,

A
