Here we are at the end of the day...with Finn sleeping quietly in his stroller...but why is he so tired??? Let's go backwards in time to find out...(it's like "Memento"!)

Right before naptime, we took the bus, and rode in the upper deck on our way back from...

The beautiful coastline of Hong Kong island...just a 20 minute ride from the city. We came directly from...

Stanley Market, where Finn mixed it up with some local kids and banged on the Dragon Boat racing drums!

Teams use a drummer at the head of the boat to keep pace and drive the rowers on!

Here's Finn in action with the local kids! It was a wonderful moment - and one of the locals even handed me a celebratory beer! (Their team had won the championship and they were celebrating)
Before we were drumming, Finn took a moment with Mommy to take in the sights of the South China Sea from Stanley Market...

And running up and down the boardwalk sure was fun!

He had all that energy to run because he had a big lunch at seaside, eating pizza!

What made him so hungry, you ask? Well, running through Stanley Market does that to a little guy! Stanley is a huge outdoor/indoor shopping area where local merchants sell pretty much anything you can imagine...

Finn waves bye-bye to Mommy before going in to haggle over some new duds!

Here, Finn and Mom pose, excited about the prospect of some shopping...of course, they were all excited because they had just witnessed...

The Dragon Boat Races! They are held every year in May/June...what a spectacular vista it was...

And hundreds of boats and racers gathered to test their skills...

The races were fun to watch!
Finn loved to watch the boats, and cheered on all the teams!

Before we were off to the races, Finn did more toodling in the harbor...

But Finn can't be tired just from one day of fun at the boat races...
Saturday, the Bakers packed up their gear and headed in to town.
"Um, Dad, can you loosen my straps up a bit? It's a bit tight back here!"

We trekked through some of the historical areas of Central, on an urban hike!

So...now you know why Finn was SO tired at the end of his weekend.
We had such an amazing day in Stanley, we're going back next weekend, but this time we're planning a bit more relaxation on the beach.
Love,
A&E
