Finn takes a moment of silence to remember our big old tree in the backyard that recently had to be cut down due to a huge crack in it and a rotten trunk. We counted 60 rings before getting to the rotten part, so we guess it was at least 80 years old!

It sure was a biggie - took over 14 hours and a giant crane to take it down to Finn's level!

Saturday, we headed to a pumpkin patch, and discovered the fall festival at the orchard...complete with bouncy castle-goodness!

The sun was out, and the temperature was perfect!

Finn in the giant wooden tractor...

And Wyatt, posing as a little farmer!

Little mini tractors were everywhere...

And the big attraction was the alpine slide...Finn and Daddy take a test drive! When Finn asked me why I was going with him, I said "so I can take care of Finn!" and Finn replied "No, Daddy, I can take care of Finn." Ahh, he's growing up already...

So then, we let Finn go solo! Boy did he have fun!

Here's a video of Finn, going down the slide...
A family hayride...

Daddy and the boys...

And away went the tractors...towards the blue skies and pumpkin patch.

Tomorrow's the Takoma Park street festival, and more fall fun!
Love,
A&E

Wyatt's hair appears to be a totally different texture from Finn's!!LOL
The family hayride portrait is one for the 'fridge for sure! The one of Andy and Finn on the slide made me think immediately of the one of Andy sledding with Barley (see http://picasaweb.google.com/ftbaker/Barley#).
