Bakertown...in Queenstown?

The Baker brood arrived in Queenstown for a two night stay, at the "Tussock Cottage" near Lake Hayes. The house and land were beautiful, owned by an artist and her husband - the yard was filled with cool wooden sculptures like this giraffe...
Here was our little cottage...perfect for a merry band of travelers!
Here's a view of the house, it's hard to imagine waking up to this view every day!
We went into Queenstown for dinner, and had what was the absolute best sandwich Andy's ever tasted!
Mmm, Fergburger...won't you please open a branch in DC?
Another sculpture in the garden...
The next morning, well, you know what we did next - prepared to bungy!
Andy contemplates the insanity of jumping off a bridge tied to a rubber band!
Well, we all know what happened next! After the fall, Finn and Andy hang out on the bridge...
We headed back to Queenstown downtown and lo and behold - another bungy jumper hanging off a giant ledge. This home of extreme sports had something crazy around every corner!
From the top of the tower over the city, we soaked up the blue sky, crisp air and pretty views!
Then rode down a luge/alpine sled from the top of the mountain to the bottom! So much fun, and Finn was excited to "go fassst!"
Before dinner, we headed on the road to Glenorchy, a scenic drive that hugs the lakeside.
This is where several scenes from Lord of the Rings were shot, including the famous "torch lighting" part of the "Return of the King"...
At dinner, Finn gives his Bob the Builder toy a taste of his potato! Before we left, one last view of Lake Hayes and a sky with nary a cloud...
Our hosts and their dog Poppy say goodbye - another wonderful family on our big adventure!
Here's a little video of Finn kicking around the soccer ball - he's got some serious skills! I especially like the pause before he puts it away in the bushes...

Watch out, Beckham!
Love,
A&E
